My Story

I spent six years as a television news reporter in Montana and Alaska. As a reporter, I wrote thousands of stories ranging in topics from crime and courts to education and technology. In Montana, I spent three months inside a courtroom writing about the largest environmental crimes case in U.S. history. In Alaska, I travelled the state writing about the complexities of wildlife management. I was the only reporter to visit a small Alaska village after its teacher was killed by a wolf pack.

Following news, I spent four years as a copywriter at an advertising and public relations firm in Anchorage, Alaska. My work included advertising campaigns, newsletters, various written print materials, press releases, campaign strategy, crisis communications and social media.

I have been honored with awards in news writing, advertising, public relations and design. My work on the State of Alaska, Alaska Energy Authority’s Energy Awareness Month Campaign received the highest award in public relations, a Silver Anvil.

Beyond storytelling, my passions lie in hunting and fishing. On many occasions my writing career has allowed me to pursue my love of the outdoors. I've been featured in fishing reports on TV, covered wildlife management issues in Alaska and have written several articles about the outdoors for various newspapers and outline publications. I routinely write articles for the Archery Trade Association's Archery360.com, Bowhunting360.com and ArcheryTrade.org.
